Learn to recognize individual plants like an old friend

Learning botany can tremendously deepen your relationship and understanding of the plants you work with.

By the end of this course, you will be able to identify the plants you work with regularly out of the corner of your eye, and even from a moving vehicle!

But even more importantly, you will develop a rich new understanding of your own personal relationship with plants, your practice of herbalism will deepen, and your connection to the earth will take on a whole new meaning.

Learn to Identify Plants Accurately

In this course, we'll work through three stages of learning to accurately identify plants.

  • Seeing Clearly

First, we need to learn to really SEE the plants we're looking at, and to understand their anatomy (and physiology!)

  • Seeing Connections

Next, we'll learn about plant families - which are just like human families! This is the way that we group similar plants so that it's easier to know what we're looking at.

  • Seeing Individuals

Finally, we'll learn how to differentiate the individual plants in each family.
